Deadly Habit

Please take time to read!! Very important!!!

A good friend in Mequon lost their 25 year old son (Arun Gopal Ratnam) in a fire at home June 4th.

This is what happened. He graduated with MBA from University of Wisconsin-Madison two weeks earlier and came home. Had a lunch with his dad at home and decided to go back to clean up his room at school. Father told him to wait and see his mother before he goes back for a few days.

He decided to take a nap while waiting for his mom to come home from work.

Neighbors called 911 when they saw black smoke coming out of the house. Their 25 year old son Arun died in the three year old house. It took several days of investigation to find out the cause of the fire.

It was determined that the fire was caused by lap top in the bed.

When the lap top is on the bed cooling fan does not get air to cool the computer and that is what caused the fire.

He did not even wake up to get out of the bed he died of carbon monoxide (CO).

The reason this is coming to all of you is that some-if not many people are fond of using our lap tops in bed! Let us make it a practice not to do that. This habit is risky, pls shun it taya, toko at'omo! It is deadly o. Let us make it a rule not to use lap top in bed or put computer on bed with blankets and pillows around.

Friday, the 13th
Why Friday the 13th is considered unlucky (IndiaPicture)
Today is Friday the 13th—considered to be a day of bad luck according to tradition, and now researchers have explained why is it so.

Some age-old facts linked with Friday the 13th are:

1. It is a curious quirk of the Gregorian calendar that the 13th of the month is more likely to fall on a Friday than any other day of the week.

2. In fact, in any 400-year period, there are 685 Monday the 13ths, 685 Tuesdays, 687 Wednesdays, 684 Thursdays, 688 Fridays, 684 Saturdays and 687 Sundays.

3. In Spain and Greece, they consider Tuesday the 13th to be unlucky, reports the Daily Express.

4. Fear of Friday the 13th is known as paraskevidekatriaphobia.

5. The number 13 has been viewed as unlucky since ancient times and Friday has been seen as inauspicious since the 14th century.

6. Yet Friday the 13th was never seen as specially scary before the middle of the 19th century.

7. Four of the 12 Friday the 13th films were released on Friday the 13th.

8. Finnish researchers in 2004 claimed that men are no more likely to die in traffic accidents on Friday the 13th than on other Fridays...

9. ...but Finnish women have a two-thirds greater chance of getting killed in a Friday the 13th crash.

10. There is always at least one and at most three Friday the 13ths in any year.

A BIG LESSON!!!!!.......

Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston , Texas . Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area.

When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, "You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.."

Then he thought, "Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it.

Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet."

When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, "Here, you gave me too much change."

The driver, with a smile, replied, "Aren't you the new preacher in town? I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday."

When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, oh God; I almost sold your Son for a quarter."

Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians and will put us to the test!

Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself "Christian."

Watch your thoughts; they become words.

Watch your words; they become actions.

Watch your actions; they become habits.

Watch your habits; they become character.

Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
God bless you; I hope you are having a wonderful day! If you don't pass this on to anybody, nothing bad will happen; if you do, you will have ministered to someone.

The Will of God will never take you to where the Grace of God will not PROTECT you... Stay FAITHFUL and Be GRATEFUL!

My Personality..........

Was surfing the net and den i came across this website http://www.ipersonic.com/type/SI.html it actually lets u select some options and den tells u d kind of personality u have. I took the test and dis was my result.........

Spontaneous Idealists are creative, lively and open-minded persons. They are humorous and dispose of a contagious zest for life. Their enthusiasm and sparkling energy inspires others and sweeps them along. They enjoy being together with other people and often have an uncanny intuition for their motivations and potential. Spontaneous Idealists are masters of communication and very amusing and gifted entertainers. Fun and variety are guaranteed when they are around. However, they are sometimes somewhat too impulsive in dealing with others and can hurt people without really meaning to do so, due to their direct and sometimes critical nature.

This personality type is a keen and alert observer; they miss nothing which is going on around them. In extreme cases, they tend to be oversensitive and exaggeratedly alert and are inwardly always ready to jump. Life for them is an exciting drama full of emotionality. However, they quickly become bored when things repeat themselves and too much detailed work and care is required. Their creativity, their imaginativeness and their originality become most noticeable when developing new projects and ideas - they then leave the meticulous implementation of the whole to others. On the whole, Spontaneous Idealists attach great value to their inner and outward independence and do not like accepting a subordinate role. They therefore have problems with hierarchies and authorities.

It then Explained further.................

If you have a Spontaneous Idealist as your friend, you will never be bored; with them, you can enjoy life to the full and celebrate the best parties. At the same time, they are warm, sensitive, attentive and always willing to help. If Spontaneous Idealists have just fallen in love, the sky is full of violins and their new partners are showered with attention and affection. This type then bubbles over with charm, tenderness and imagination. But, unfortunately, it soon becomes boring for them once the novelty has worn off. Boring everyday life in a partnership is not for them so that many Spontaneous Idealists slip from one affair into another. However, should the partner manage to keep their curiosity alive and not let routine and familiarity gain the upper hand, Spontaneous Idealists can be inspiring and loving partners.

And finally it described me with various adjectives................

spontaneous, enthusiastic, idealistic, extroverted, theoretical, emotional, relaxed, friendly, optimistic, charming, helpful, independent, individualistic, creative, dynamic, lively, humorous, full of zest for life, imaginative, changeable, adaptable, loyal, sensitive, inspiring, sociable, communicative, erratic, curious, open, vulnerable.

For those of u who have met me b4 you'd discover dat all dat was said here is true........and y'all should try it to........

Rhapsodies of an island Trip .................Part 2!!!!

The Journey to ' The Island looked smooth on the onset both fellows were high spirited discussing joyfully and sharing opinions wholeheartedly, with no knowledge of what the future had planned for them, this explained why God publicly proclaimed in his testaments ' My people suffer for lack of knowledge'. The rain was still coming down hard and the vehicle slowed down, traffic moved slowly along the highway that led to the island. This coursed the path to other discussions and extended their pending adventure. The vehicle got through the road and the driver fell in love with the freeway and kept covering distance faster than expected, what had been a jolly ride turned out to be a pointless journey cos the cab driver suddenly brought it to the awareness of the talk lost fellows that he didn't have an entirely correct knowledge of the route to the island....this brought concern to the couple and this served as the Genesis to the Exodus of the island trip.
The fellows decided to stop to ask for directions which they got. They breathed a sigh of relief and got back on their trip this time on the right course and more cautiously monitoring the drivers movement so he doesn't fall in love a second time.
On getting to the edge of 'the island' the couple were met with a surprise as they hoped they would have received a more welcoming entrance into the island. Little did they know that this was just the beginning. as a result of the rain the lane leading to d island and been clogged with a certain content and this content posed itself as a challenge to the smooth and less stressful entrance into the island.
The cab went ahead swerving left to right avoiding ditches and roughly coursing its way through the clogged content.Further approaching the island the vehicle came to an abrupt stop and this shook up the passengers of the vehicle. The driver came down looking confident and in control. and he took care of the situation. On getting close to one of the fellows drop off point the fellow came to realize dat the rain had somehow found its way into the vehicle and helped itself to one of dems fancy/ colorful skirt, this fellow perceived this as an embarrassing situation. the fellow alighted the vehicle at drop off point and agreed with the other counterpart on meeting point. As desperation will always take its course this fellow found a way to make the skirt situation look less embarrassing. The second fellow went ahead to drop off point 2 and came down from d vehicle parting with the cab driver and reassuring him of an early return. Both fellows successfully met their appointments and completed their tasks. they got back together and got back on the road back to whence they came.
The fellows expected that the most crucial part of their journey had been completed little did they know that they were yet to be surprised once again. After successfully exiting the island and getting to the link road to the highway the fellows were surprised at the level to which the clogging had taken over the road and this shook them up all over again. The prayer at their lips was 'God see us through oh! omo i can't push the car oh! ' eventually their fears materialized and the car came to a full stop........................
The driver tried but to no avail in getting the vehicle to start without having to take the option of coming down and fixing the challenge. eventually he summed up adequate courage and came of d vehicle wadding through the clogged road straight to the front of the car and attempted to take control of the situation. This attempt was futile as the car still didn't work and this increased the fear of the driver's passengers. Simultaneously the roads contents began to find its way through the doors of the vehicle and gradually the vehicle's interior began to take the shape of the exteriors condition. At some point one of the fellows probably disillusioned by the days events imagined a fish on the floor boards of the vehicle. This pleasant yet funny illusion didn't last for long as d car suddenly revved up with life. This brought a glint of hope but this time the fellows were not bought over completely they had learned their lesson. They based their hopes on the yet to come and struggled to keep their little hope from drifting into false hopes. Eventually they came out successfully from the clogged road and got on the free road and eventually with smiling faces got off the cab paid their fares while bidding the cab driver goodbye.......they walked back too their office going over their days experience............

Food For Thought!!!!

As dead flies give perfume a bad smell, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor. (Eccles 10:1)

Everyone on earth is a builder. We are all building something in one way or another. You may be building a family or a business empire. You may be building a ministry or an academic career. You may even be building a reputation or a name. Whatever you are building, you should build very carefully if you want to reach your goal.

It takes a lot of self- denial, money, time, materials and labors to build. It requires patience, perseverance, faith and hard work. To pull down something that has been built, is very easy. We have to remember this if we would like to avoid any big losses.

The above verse tells us that flies spoil the sweet smelling perfume the moment they enter it. It begins to produce a stinking odors. We should be extremely careful. Gehazi was building a ministry under the mentorship of Elisha. People knew him wherever he went. He was always with his master. He had access to the king's respected man of God won him several favors.

Other prophets' envied him, because they knew sooner or later he would succeed his master as the country's head prophet. Once that had happened, even the king would call him 'father'. Just before he was destined to take over, he committed one act of foolishness. He agreed with the devil to be greedy for just once! But that single act of foolishness cost him everything. The ministry and reputation he had been building for years were wiped out in an instant. He ended up as the country's head leper instead of the head prophet! Watch it. Your whole reputation and ministry could be lost as a result of a single act of fornication, theft, infidelity, dishonesty or anger. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to keep building consistently.

Father, grant us sufficient grace to avoid any foolish acts that can ruin
our career, ministry or whatever we are building as we obey His will for our lives.
